Andrew Harlow: ‘Design is largely code these days.... →
‘Design is largely code these days. It wasn’t print that died, it was the graphic design industry as we knew it. The idea of making a living out of forming and applying static shapes to cumbersome paper is almost absurd now and growing ever more so in my opinion. If you go along to a potential client and say “I have this really exciting thing that I think will really help your brand to sell...

I really really enjoyed the movie Chronicle. This isn’t surprising, because it’s boys with psychic powers (in a realistic setting!). It’s like someone read my mind and made me the perfect movie of things I love…
The action scenes at the end were amazing, I loved that they used footage from multiple cameras, and not just their own hand-held one.
I obviously don’t know what a monster is. Because all I’ve drawn using this generator is cute anthropomorphic beings. The next one will be a monster I promise :(

Commissions (again)
two-thirty:
Hey, I’m taking commissions again. To make it really simple, something like the below images are $15 for one character, and $10 for extras. I can be as precise or as experimental as you wish. If you’re interested in something else/different don’t hesitate to ask, my e-mail is sammmbeck (@) gmail.com

where do people get prints of their art done, so they can sell it independently? What kind of printer do they use? What kind of paper etc etc. (I live in Toronto by the way, but I’m curious for any answer, it’s such a mystery to me.)

happy new years
This year was strange, it didn’t feel continuous (monotonous?), it felt like it was broken into chapters. I worked the hardest I ever had in my final year at school, made new friends, managed and built a huge exhibition, graduated in early spring, started my first studio job in the summer, fell out of touch with new friends, made more than just a friend, lost the job in late fall, began a...

I’ve had a 4x6” bamboo tablet for 6 years or so and I’m thinking of replacing it soon, and was wondering if getting an Intuos with a bigger drawing area is a good idea? Is having a bigger drawing space more comfortable, is the intuos extras better for workflow than the bamboo? I use it to draw obviously, but I also use my tablet for design stuff (illustrator and indesign etc)

On the kitchen table is Betty Crocker’s Cookbook New and Revised Edition (circa 1969), and the typeface used in the headers etc is the same one I use on my business cards and resume. I’m so cool.
(the typeface is Serif Gothic, if anyone cared…)
